"We loved having Richard - and his toys - to visit! So hands-on and so interactive. We will use him again every year..." - Natalie, North Tyneside teacher

What was life like for a child in the the times of Queen Victoria? What was school like? What jobs did children do? How did children enjoy themselves before TV, tablets, computers and video games?

Find out by inviting That History Bloke to share his collection of Victorian artefacts and toys with you!

We always begin with a bit of dressing up to help us find out about schools and in the past - children always look amazing dressed as coalminers and Victorian school children! We then use real domestic artefacts to find out how houses and homes used to be different to ours - it's great fun pretending to do the washing with a dolly stick and carbolic soap!

Toys in the past make up the rest of the session - from automatons to zoetropes and from quoits to bagatelle! The sessions always include a playtime, where children can get hands-on with these amazing inventions - and there are plenty to go around!

This HUGELY popular and interactive session is one of That History Bloke's favourites to deliver.
